Day 1 in Laos: Today, we got to visit a ceremony of a new school today. The classroom I'm sitting in is from the old building. Hopefully with the new school, children can study in a brighter and better environment. I've never seen kids so happy and excited to receive education. Felt nice to see children actually play (even if it's an old tattered ball) rather than just stuck to their lit up devices. The village elders all came to be part of this big day. We got to experience a Basi celebration too where elders tie white strings around your wrist while giving you their blessings. Despite being a Christian, I could still sense their love through each prayer and forever grateful. Today, I realised how lucky I am to have access to nutritional food, clean water & plumbing systems. Always be thankful. I'll be visiting one of our schools tomorrow.
